Repairs Don't Matter Until You Need Them!
It is quite incredible how many companies base their purchasing of wireless two-way radios purely on the lowest cost devices. Of course, while some might work fine for a long time, purely by design and with cheap components integral to the radio there is no doubt that you WILL encounter failures. We hear from many customers that suffer in that way, and in particular with Baofeng brand. And we always ask what the customer does about a failed radio? The answer? 'We throw it away!'. Of course, firstly that's bad if you operate your communications on devices that fail in that way, and secondly, just as important in our view, those failed devices generate a high carbon footprint purely because they are sold new instead of repairing them. Often those cheap radios are not the best choice
At LRS UK we take a different view. Firstly, there is no doubt
that if you buy any of the brands that we sell (all major brands you
know) then from our personal experience the radio will generally
last a long time; and your communications quality will undoubtedly
be better; and the audio will be crystal clear; and analogue/digital
mix is no problem ... there are of course many more differences too,
like range. But basing a companies radio communications quality on
ANY company where getting repairs and support is difficult (let
alone based in China or other foreign land) at the best of times.
Try shipping one to the maker some time.
Our experience shows that if you buy the quality products, then there is substantially less chance of any failure of the device, and if you do have a failure in warranty, we will get that handled for you. And out of warranty? No problem, we have a great service department for repairs where we don't charge you 'an arm and a leg' just to say hello. And that is a way of reducing that carbon footprint that will undoubtedly help everyone... and over time your bank balance too!
There is nothing worse than utilising poor quality products for company communications, only to be 'let down' through failure after failure of the product ... and simply throwing them away and buying more is a particularly sad approach. We think that when you do buy quality products - and taking in to account the very minimal failure rates that you will be financially better off with the quality wireless radios.
